Maya Plisetskaya in Swan Lake

This is still the best Odile I've seen. Even without the 32 fouettes. The quality of the dance is exceptional.

Odile

The Odile/Sigfried, pas de deux is one of the most vibrant and stirring acts (Act III) in the Petipa ballet repetoire. It creates a perfect foil for the delicacy and beauty of the white swan, Odette, and shows how one, so in love as Sigfried is with Odette, can still be fooled, by dazzle and glitter, But, as in all fairy tales, love wins in the end, even in death. Balletomane's Love - Giselle

I must say that there are many ballets I adore. When I watch a ballet, I'm transported to a world of ineffable beauty. If I were to choose I would have to say Giselle is my favorite ballet. The sheer grace, and line of this ballet sends chills down my spine, and transports me to a world that can only exist in dreams. Here are some photos of this work.
